In June 2025, the BIOS MATER project officially commenced with its Kick-Off Meeting held in Zaragoza, Spain, and hosted by CIRCE. The meeting brought together all 22 project partners from across Europe, representing a diverse range of research institutions, industry stakeholders, and policy experts, united under a shared vision of advancing sustainable construction practices.
Over the course of two days, partners had the opportunity to present their organizations, showcase their ongoing work, and exchange expertise in bio-based materials, circular value chains, and sustainability-driven innovation. Detailed discussions on project objectives, work packages, and collaborative strategies laid a strong foundation for coordinated efforts over the coming years.
The Kick-Off Meeting was not only an opportunity to align on the project’s technical and scientific goals, but also to foster collaboration, build relationships across the consortium, and ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the ambitious aims of BIOS MATER.
With all partners fully engaged and committed, the project is now well-positioned to drive meaningful impact in the construction sector, delivering innovative bio-based materials and promoting circular, low-carbon solutions across Europe.
